Drunk Ed Presents: Roasts of "Great" Literary Men

  • Housing Works / Bookstore Cafe 126 Crosby Street New York, NY, 10012 United States (map)

Throughout history, "great men" have written some of our most important works—histories, novels, poems, plays—but are they really all that great? Drunk Education (the event formerly known as Drunk TED Talks) returns to poke holes and deflate the egos of even more writer men. Some roasts will be loving, some will be scathing, but no one will escape untouched. This time, The Point joins Drunk Ed to focus on "political comedy." What is it? Why is it? Do we really need it now, more than ever?

With:

Eve Peyser (VICE) on Andy Borowitz

Karen Chee (The New Yorker, McSweeney’s Internet Tendency) on George Orwell

Adam Valen Levinson (The Paris ReviewAl JazeeraHaaretz) on Jonathan Swift

and Rachel Wiseman (The Point) on Kafka
